Creating the Staircase Model
For the particular shot "and threw the kittens down the stairs", I needed to create a small scale model [1: ] of the apartment's staircase. It needed to be large enough to allow for detail on the dead kitten props [to be created by Jasmine] and of the appropriate aspect ratio, 16:9.

Above: A final plan and an isometric technical drawing for the model. Arrows indicate that a taller height will be needed to accomodate for 2 windows and to keep the light out.
Note: An additional perspective skew has been made for extra effect through the lens.

Below you can see 2 test shots of the model using my desk lamp for lighting. Overall, I am really happy with the outcome; it's a very sturdy structure with a good brutalist feel to it and I think we will achieve the shot "...and threw the kittens down the stairs" perfectly.
