Filming Schedule & Technicalities

In preparation for filming this week, I volunteered to put together a filming schedule, prioritising for the sets and props that were ready to be filmed. I've printscreened the documents and placed them below - of course things may change over the course of 3 weeks, but this acts as a solid guideline to avoid going off track and running out of time.

Filming Technicalities:

A few weeks ago, myself and Gray spoke with one of the metal workshop technicians about the technicalities of animating with magnets. After discussing different possibilities, the decision was as follows: All of the flooring created would be attached to a sheet of mountboard [as opposed to the wooden bases as originally proposed], thin beams/sheets of metal would be attached to the wooden bases [to be sandwiched underneath the flooring], the puppets would have a small bit of metal glued into their feet and magnets would be attached to their feet when necessary.

The theory is that they should magnetise through the floorboards with the metal sheets underneath. This method allows us to attach and remove the magnets whenever, meaning we can have a foot floating just above the floor without it being pulled down.

Unfortunately, this is something we have underprepapred for and no tests have been made - as the workshops were closed all of Easter we will begin this process tomorrow. It's a close call and if it doesn't work, we're going to have to think fast.

To speed things up a bit, I've put together some diagrams below of the routes our puppets will need to take throughout the entire film. This will save us money on material and create a guideline for what we're going to be animating. The green signals where metal strips will be placed.
